Sir Matthew Pinsent CBE- Quadruple Olympic gold medallist rower

“On balance I don't know anyone who loves their job every day. Sure, there were bad days for me where it seemed like a meaningless treadmill, but the good days outweighed the bad. Best of all, every four years I got to go to the Olympics with Great Britain on my back, and, what's more, if I did it right, I won. No matter how bad the weather or how hard the training, you could not put a price on that. Competing for your country is an honour and a responsibility; if I could not do it justice, then I would have just pulled the duvet over my head and gone back to sleep. It was at that point I usually got out of bed and went training.”
